Overview:

Students will discover how to mix secondary and intermediate colors from primary colored tempera paint. 

 

Objectives:

1. Students will see primary, secondary and intermediate colors from a color wheel.

2. Students will create a color wheel from their own drawing.

3. Students will discover the blending properties of paint by creating secondary and intermediate colors from primary color paint.

Overview:

Students will see that symmetrical balance and visual rhythm can unify an artwork and create an object of visual interest.

 

Objectives:

1. Students will use lines, shapes and colors to create a tessellation design.

2. Students will see how tessellation is used in works of art to create visual patterns.

Overview:

Students will discover that working spontaneously with colors in printmaking can inspire creativity and create unique works of art.

  

Objectives:

1. Students will use create a design from which to make a print.

2. Students will learn on aspect of printmaking (monoprints).

3. Students will discover the results of their choices by working spontaneously with paint.

4. Students will create multiple prints in the Andy Warhol style.

Overview:

Students will see that a work of art can be functional as well as an aesthetic object. 

  

Objectives:

1. Students will know 6 keywords relating pottery.

2. Students will learn basic procedures for making a pinch pot candle holder using wet clay.

3. Students will create a finished ceramic piece adding color with glaze.

4. Students will learn basic principles of slab building and glazing a slab built candle house.
