Student Responsibilities in the Classroom

Students in this Learning Disabilities class are students on the sixth grade team.  My position is to reinforce the curriculum that is taught on these teams.

My students are included in all the regular education classes.  The sixth graders attend a daily 30-minute study group in the Learning Support class for preteaching, reteaching, studying, and assignment assistance.  They also receive direct assistance from me in their regualr education classes that I attend daily.  I am in the class to assist the students as the teacher is instructing or may take them to my class to do small group instruction. Tests and text may be read aloud or other accomodations made.

Homework is a very important aspect of our school.  My students will be held responsible for the homework that is assigned in their classes.  Please check their planner daily for assignments and upcoming tests.

Each week a lesson plan sheet listing the assignments and tests for the week and any upcoming work will be sent home with your son/daughter. This is a projected outline fo rhte week because sometimes plans change due to assemblies or the need to further reinforce a skill being taught.  This sheet will assist you in helping your child find success with his assignments and scores on his/her tests.  Please post this where you can view it easily and monitor your child's workload.  This plan is also available on my webpage.  Just click on the "flying dragon".
