Meet Mrs. Shoemaker
My name is Mrs. Traci Shoemaker. I reside in Duncansville. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education at Grove City College and my Masters degree in Education and my Reading Specialist certification at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
I have two children, a son who is 12 years old and going into 6th grade, and a daughter, 8, who is going into third grade. My husband is a math teacher in the Hollidaysburg Area School District. My favorite things to do when I am not at school include running, reading (of course!), cross stitching, and spending time with my family.
I have worked in the Spring Cove School District for 14 years. I taught second grade for four years and then fourth grade for two years. When I received my Reading Certificate, I began working as a Title I Reading teacher. I spent nine years in this position and now I am extremely excited to be returning to the classroom to teach third grade.
I am really looking forward to meeting all of my students and getting to know them and their families this year. I also anticipate having a wonderful year watching them develop as learners and caring, responsible students.
