Judy Plummer is a graduate of Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas, with a bachelor of science degree in elementary education. She continued her professional development at Shippensburg University where she earned a master‘s degree in reading. She holds certifications in Reading Recovery, Math Their Way, and Activities for Integrating Math and Science (AIMS.) She participated in the South Carolina State Writing Project, a component of the National Writing Project. And she has twice been nominated to "Who‘s Who Among American Teachers."
Being married to a career Naval officer has given her the opportunity to teach in several different states including Connecticut, California, Virginia, South Carolina, and Pennsylvania. During her twenty-one year career she has taught in each grade - kindergarten through eighth.
Mrs. Plummer and her family now reside in Bedford in a hundred year old house. She and her husband, Rudy, are the parents of two children, Dr. Megann Smiley, on the staff of Ohio State University's Children's Hospital and Edward, a police officer in Hagerstown, Maryland. She is also the proud grandmother of William Richardson Smiley.
