Language Arts includes Reading, Spelling, English, and Writing. Students will be introduced to a new story and set of vocabulary words each week. Reading tests will be given each Thursday on story content, vocabulary, and weekly skills. We will also be introducing Accelerated Reader this year.
Spelling lists will be sent home every Friday for the next week. A pretest will be given on Wednesdays and students spelling all words correctly will not have to retake the test on Friday, which will be the final test.
In English, students will be introduced to new language skills in grammar and writing each week.
