The PA School Code requires all children entering school for the
first time
(Kindergarten/first grade) and students in third and seventh grades to have a dental examination. This dental examination can be done by your family dentist or done by the school dentist during the coming school year.
A dental exam is considered current and is accepted if it is dated within 1 year prior to Sept. of this present school year until Thanksgiving vacation of next school year.
For example: If
the current school year is Sept. 2007, the dental exam must be dated between Sept. 2006-until Thanksgiving vacation 2007.

Smile Pennsylvania Mobile Dentists Program
The Spring Cove School District has invited Smile Pennsylvania Mobile Dentists to visit our schools twice during the 2008-2009 school year to provide preventative dental care services to our students. Smile Pennsylvania Mobile Dentists will set-up a mini-dental office in our school and will conduct a variety of preventative dental practices (including examinations, teeth cleaning, fluoride treatments, x-rays, and sealant application) for children in grades Pre-K through 8th. Parents and or guardians with children in grades Pre-K through 8th may elect to participate in this optional program. Smile Pennsylvania Mobile Dentists has a website that provides an overview of programs and services at www.mobiledentists.com. Permission slips and additional information on the Smile Pennsylvania Mobile Dentist program are provided in the first day packet. If you would like your child to participate in the Mobile Dentist Program, please complete and return the form to the nurse by September 10, 2008.
