Who can refer students to an Instructional Support Team? A student can be referred to instructional support by the classroom teacher or parent. What is an Action Plan? An action plan consists of supportive accommodations and strategies which match the student's learning style. The classroom teacher(s), parent(s), and instructional support teacher are responsible for implementing the supportive accommodations. The student's progress is continually monitored throughout the instructional support process. What are supportive accommodations? Supportive accommodations are teaching/learning strategies which can be incorporated into classroom work, homework, small group instruction, or individual instruction. What are the outcomes of Instructional Support? - Students are successful with minimal support and do not need further support.
- Students need to have action plans revised with additional support programs such as tutoring or additional small group work for remediation.
- Students need to be evaluated by the school psychologist for learning support services provided by special education teachers.
