Social Studies

      This year we will be using the social studies series: "People We Know" which is published by Harcourt.  There are six units we will be studying throughout the year:

Marking Period 1 - Unit 1: Governing the People

Marking Period 2 - Unit 4: People Long Ago

Marking Period 3 - Unit 2 & Unit 5: The World Around Us and A World of Many People

Marking Period 4 - Unit 3 & Unit 6: Using Our Resources and People in the Market Place

The children will not be using individual textbooks.  We will be using big books and doing a lot of shared reading.  Here is a link to the new series web site:
