Writing
We will be focus on printing all of the lowercase and uppercase letters of the alphabet correctly during the first half of the year. The second half of the year we will be doing slant printing and learning lowercase and uppercase cursive writing.
Kid Writing
We will be having second grade “Kid Writing.” The students will be taught many different graphic organizers to use when writing to organize their thoughts before beginning their writing paper. I will be teaching focus, content, organization, style, and conventions. Sometimes a prompt will be given, but most of the time the students will be given 30 minutes to write a topic(s) of choice in their “kid writing” folder. Each child’s story is read in a small group and discussed orally as it is edited. This is a great program that encourages and
