CHS Students Attend Annual Foreign Language Festival at IUP
On Saturday, April 26, 2008, Central High School students got up very early to attend the annual Foreign Language Festival at Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP). Language teachers Patricia Leonard and Louise Wilson asked students to arrive by 6:25 AM in order to be at IUP by 8:00. These students willingly gave up a Saturday to display their talents relating to their respective foreign languages.
The following students earned awards at the event. Hannah Knauss won second place in Senior High Music/Instrumental, while Sierra Salcedo earned second place in Spanish II Literary Recitation. Richard Mitchell took home third place in Spanish I Speaking Proficiency, and Samantha Wilt received second place in French I Speaking Proficiency. Blair Fornwalt placed third in Senior High Art Original.
Other participants for the day included Ashley Garner, Sierra Nycum, and Adam Brogdon.
All the participants represented CentralHigh School very well in this eight-county event. Congratulations to all the participants in this year’s Foreign Language Festival!
