Laura Vaccaro Seeger Author Visit

    The elementary students of Spring Cove Schools were treated to a very special presentation from Laura Vaccaro Seeger, award winning author/illustrator. Laura has most recently been named Caldecott honor winner for her book, First the Egg.
     All primary students learned more about the writing process Laura uses when preparing her stories. They also had great fun sketching two of her characters, Dog and Bear.
     The intermediate grades learned more about her illustrating style.
     They all had an opportunity to paint a piece of artwork based on her book, Walter Was Worried. Laura enjoyed woring with our creative students.
     This very successful visit was made possible in part with a Spring Cove Educational Foundation grant. Heather Trimeloni and Donna Dries sponsored the event for the elementary students from March 25- March 28, 2008. A great time was had by all!
