Welcome to the Spring Cove School District Food and Nutrition Services.  We recognize that proper nutrition and physical activity contribute to student performance by improving student alertness, social, emotional and physical wellbeing.  Our Wellness Policy encourages the school community to participate and model positive dietary and lifestyle practices.

The school menus are planned by a Registered Dietitian to reflect the Dietary Guidelines for Americans and the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Pyramid.

We offer Breakfast and Lunch at each of our schools, which include a variety of:  main entrees, fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and a variety of milk selections.  We offer dessert and other treats in moderation.

We participate in the National School Lunch Program, which is regulated by the United States Departemnt of Agriculture (USDA) and implemented by The Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE).

We operate under a Nutrient-Based Menu Planning program as directed by the USDA.  We use computerized nutrient analysis to meet the standards for specific age/grade groups.  Our meals meet one third of the RDA (Recommended Dietary Allowances) of calcium, protein, iron, vitamin A and vitam C for specific age groups.

We encourage our customers' involvement in the planning of our meals.  Please contact one of the managers if you have comments, ideas, or suggestions.

We look forward to serving you.
