All Students interested in participating in the Concert Choir during the 2008-9 School year should be scheduled for academic credit for the entire year, 1st period. Your attendance will be taken in 1st period choir homeroom (105) daily.
Choir is offered:
1st Period for the year: Concert Choir
2nd Period for the year: Choir Extension (This is a choir supplement course for students who also have period 1 scheduled)
It is very important if you want to sing that you get choir scheduled. There will be no activity period so extra-curricular choir no longer exists.
Benefits of scheduling choir:
- More hands on vocal instruction
- More individual vocal attention
- More indepth experience of performing arts
- More ability to learn sight reading and vocal production techniques
- More opportunities to use higher level thinking skills
- More opportunities for outside of school performing experiences
Students who are scheduled usually have a better handle on the program and what is expected, plus they become much better performers in 4 years.
