COURSE DESCRIPTIONS
Building Trades provides instruction in five areas of construction: carpentry, masonry,electrical wiring, plumbing, and blueprint reading. Building Trades 9 is a semester course that is offered to 9th grade students. Mr. Jim Snyder teaches Building Trades 9 & 10. (Please see his page for course descriptions) Mr. Ormsby teaches Building Trades 11 & 12. Building Trades 11 is only for students that have completed Building Trades 10, and Building Trades 12 is only for students that have completed Building Trades 11. Course syllabus for both is found below.
The goal of General Science 9 is to introduce students to the study of chemistry, physics, earth and space sciences. The course will introduce matter, energy, the solar system, and the atmosphere with emphasis on the everyday application of these scientific principles. This course is to serve as an introductory course to the high school sciences by providing students with the skills necessary to prepare them for their upperclassmen science classes.
