Beginning in the summer of 1992, I began a relationship with Little League Baseball, Inc. that lasted with minor interuptions for 11 years. I began working at the Green Acres Little League Baseball Camp in Hillsgrove as a counselor, then from the summer of 1993 through the summer of 1998, I was a coach and Hitting Instructor. In 1999, I became the Assistant Camp Director and finally, in 2000 I became Camp Director. Each year provided an opportunity to work with an unbelievably diverse group of 9 - 12 year olds to teach baseball (and life skills) to. In 2002, I returned to Hillsgrove as the Hitting Instructor and Coach.
I had the opportunity to meet some very important and influential people (inserting my own gratuitious name dropping) like: professional football player Don Warren and his son Blake, professional wrestler Scott "Bam Bam" Bigelow and his son Scott, P Diddy's son Justin, Dr. Creighton Hale (the head of Little League Baseball at the time) and grandsons, Mr. Steve Keener (the head of Little League Baseball) and his sons Josh and Nicholas, ABC Sports Executive Producers Jack O'Hara and his sons, Matt and Brian (tragically Mr. O'Hara was killed along with his wife and daughter on TWA Flight 800) and Mr. David Kiviat and his son Trevor. (Other "famous folks" that I have had the pleasure of meeting and talking to include: X-Gamers Ryan Nyquist and Dave Mirra, Oriole and Yankee Pitcher Mike Mussina, Former Oiler and Giant Gary Brown, Professional Wrestlers Ivan Putski, the Iron Shiek, "Cowboy" Bob Orton, Kamala, Sgt. Slaughter, Rob Van Dam and Sabu, the Bands DanceHall Crashers and MXPX, to drop but a few names!!)
Also, 4 different teams from Nigeria and 2 teams from Japan had graced our camp during the times that I was there along with numerous other international players.

My parents, Pete and Lynn Logan (deceased) continue to reside in Williamsport. My dad is a retired City of Williamsport firefighter who now hunts and fishes while selling fire equipment on the side. My mom was a warehouse secretary for Trenco/Distribution Concepts in Williamsport who fought a long and courageous battle with colon cancer but succumbed to the battle on Sept. 10th 2007. My brothers DJ (with his wife Gwen, daughter Payton and son Ethan) and Ben (with wife Julie) both live in the greater Harrisburg metropolitan area.
After graduating from LHU in the spring of 1998, my future wife Lisa got a job working for Joyner SportsMedicine(before moving to Drayer, ProCare and then Endurance Athletics) in Altoona, so from Williamsport, I moved to "Gospel Hill" in Altoona. At the beginning of that school year, she was given Spring Cove School District and Central High School as her assignment. Little did we know that CHS and the metro-plex that is the "Cove" would become our home. During the 1998-1999 school year, I did what many young teachers did and substituted every day, all around the area.
Over the summer of 1999, I received a call that would send me to Cove Forge Behavioral Health Systems working with 12-18 year old boys with a drug/alchohol addiction and a diagnosed mental disorder. The would be the most rewarding (and most trying at times) job I ever had experienced to that time. In October of that year, Lisa and I were married at the Clover Creek Church of the Bretheren by Pastor Banaszak. As a glimpse into the future of what are lives would be like, Lisa was taping Central football players, the night before we were married, at our house. Right before the start of the 2001-2002 school year, I received a call from Mr. Crumrine that would change my life.
After getting through the interview process with Mr. Ebersole, Mr. Crumrine, Mr. Loucks and others, I ws offered a position (Mr. Louck's old stomping grounds of Room 411) to teach Psychology, US History and POD/Economics. I gladly accepted the position. In the Fall of 2001, I became a volunteer football coach with the JV team with Coach Albright (and Coach AJ Hoenstine), which would lead to accepting a position (from the Fall of 2002 to the Fall of 2003 and from the Fall 2005 to the Fall of 2006) as a 9th grade Assistant Football Coach. In the spring of 2002, I accepted a position of Assistant Baseball Coach of the 9th grade with Coach Cowher that ran until the spring of 2003. Finally, in the Fall of 2003, I applied for and was appointed the Head Coach for Varsity Softball at Central High School. In the Fall of 2007, I became the Head 7th grade Football coach with Assistant Joey Hinton. It was also in the Fall of 2007 that I announced my resignation at the Head Softball Coach.
The greatest accomplishment so far has been the birth of our first child. Josiah Hunter Logan was born on July 24th, 2003 at 11:45 pm. He was 19 1/4 inches long and weighed 6 pounds 9 1/2 ounces. He was a gift from God that I can't get enough of.
In January of 2009, we will welcome Josiah's little sister into the Logan family.

Josiah in one of my favorite outfits. This was given to him by Jenna Daughenbaugh about a week before her accident. She was so estatic about being able to babysit him that it still breaks our hearts.
