Physical Education Grading



                                                       

I.   The following will be considered before a grade is given:
      A.  Daily Uniform
      B.  Class participation 
      C.  Performance level 
      D.  Class Conduct 
      E.  Attitude
      F.  Ability 
      G.  Improvement

II.  Every student will begin each class period with 5 points.  The following points will be deducted for each infraction:
      A.  Cutting all or any part of a class                                -15
      B.  No uniform(not dressed)                                           -7
      C.  Refusal to participate                                               -7
      D.  The second and all succeeding non-medical excuse   -5
      E.  Inappropriate class conduct*                                     -4
            Examples:  1.  Horseplay
                              2.  Fighting
                              3.  Offensive language
                              4.  Insubordination
                              5.  Any conduct deemed unacceptable

       *  Disruptive Behavior
            1st  Warning
            2nd Student/teacher conference
            3rd  School detention
            4th  Parent/teacher conference                                                                                * All consequences may be skipped and student sent right to school detention.

All students that fail physical education class due to refusal to participte, will be required to make up the credit in summer school at Hollidaysburg or Altoona High school.
