Health Basic Guidelines

          I.   General Information:

     1.  Exams are given on a regular basis.  Test grades account for a portion of your grade.
     2.  Guest speakers, films, hands-on projects, and Current Health magazines are regularly
used to increase your knowledge and awareness.
     3.  Homeword is a requirement, not an option.  Homework assignments must be
complete, accurate, and punctual.  Incomplete, late or unsubmitted homework
          adversely affects your grade.
     4.  Class participation is encouraged and rewarded.
     5.  Attendance is a must.  Be in class on time, with paper, pencil and class book.

II.  Classroom Rules:

     1.  General good manners, courteous behavior and respect  toward all class member,
instructor and guest speakers are expected at all times.
     2.  Classroom disruptions will not be tolerated.  Examples are talking to others, not
keeping your hands to yourself, and use of improper language.
     3.  When one person speaks, we have order and education; when several speak, we
          have confusion and chaos.
     4.  Students will come prepared and be on time.  Bring appropriate materials to class.

III.  Consequences of Disruptive Behavior:

      Offense:  1st-  Warning
                     2nd- Student/teacher conference after class
                     3rd- Classroom detention
                     4th- School detention
                     5th- Parent/teacher conference

* All consequences may be skipped and the student sent right to school detention.

IV. Make-up policy:

It is the student's responsibility, not the Instructor's to determine and complete work missed due to any absence from class.

1.  See me as soon as possible. (locker room or cafeteria).   2. Check with classmates for notes, and handouts.   3. All missed work is required to be made up within one or two health classes after your return. Make-up work should take precedence over other activities.

* These guidelines are reviewed and students are given a copy at the beginning of each marking period.
