My name is Deanie Cafferty and I am a graduate of Central High School and Lock Haven University. I have been teaching physical education in the district for 30 years. Eighteen of those years were spent mostly in the elementary with some classes at the high school. I am now currently full time at Central High School. I also coached girls’ tennis and volleyball for a number of years. I began teaching step aerobic classes thirteen years ago at our local YMCA and am still very active with these adult classes.
I live in Roaring Spring with my husband, Bruce, and son, Shane, who attends Central High School. We also have three grown children who live in the district. Willie Kitt teaches third grade at R.S. elementary and also coaches football and baseball for the district. He lives with his wife, Jess, and their three children. Our daughter, Erin Lewis, also a graduate of Central High School, served our district for a few years as a part-time school nurse but is now teaching full time at Penn State University. She lives with her husband Mike and their two daughters in Roaring Spring. Joey Kitt, my second son, is a graduate of CHS and Shippensburg University and is presently teaching 5th grade at Claysburg Kimmel Elementary. He is also the head football coach for the Bulldogs. He is married to the former Emily Shaw, who teaches special ed. for the SCSD.
