CHS 3 Bellefonte 13
Central left 9 men on base and could only muster 3 runs in their home opener against Bellefonte. Trailing 7-3 in the seventh, the Dragons gave up six runs in the iniing to set the final score. Sophomore Eric Keefer had 3 singles on the day to lead the offense. Senior Ryan Neil added two singles. Sophomore Jared Baird took the loss striking out 4. Senior Jacob Russell threw the last 2 innings of relief striking out 2. Central drops to 0-1 to begin the season
CHS 10 Bald Eagle 11
Central traveled to Bald Eagle to face a powerful Eagle team and lost a heartbreaker 10-11 as the Eagles scored four times in the sixth and twice in the seventh to overcome a 10-5 deficit. Senior Ryan Neil led the offense with two hits including a triple and 3 rbi's. Sophomore Trent Forshey pounded out 2 doubles and added 3 rbi's as well. C.J. Gahagan was the tough luck loser as he had a gutsy effort on the mound striking out 6. Central returns home to face Tyrone on Monday.
CHS 11 Tyrone 1
Central picked up its first win of the season via the 10 run rule in six innings against Tyrone. Senior Jacob Russell pitched a gem only allowing 2 hits while striking out 5. The Dragon offense picked up the pace with 14 hits. Leading the hit parade was junior Jordon Saylor who had 3 hits on the day. Sophomore Trent Forshey pounded out 2 doubles and drove in four runs and seniors Drew Ebersole and Ryan Neil added 2 hits on the day. The Dragons inprove to 1-2 on the year and will face Huntingdon in league action tomorrow.
CHS 2 Huntingdon 1
Central traveled to Huntingdon and picked up a nail biting 2-1 victory on Thursday afternoon. Sophomore Jared Baird threw a complete game only allowing 1 run and stiking out 2 to pick up his first victory of the year. Derek Forshey was a perfect 3 for 3 at the plate and drove in fellow senior Drew Ebersole who doubled to begin the inning with the winning run in the top of the sixth. Central improves to 2-2 with the win and will face Indian Valley tomorrow weather permitting at Central.
CHS 9 Philipsburg 19
Central could not hold on to a 4-3 lead and dropped a game at PO Monday afternoon. Jordon Saylor led the offense with 2 hits including a home run and drove in 4 runs. Jacob Russell had 2 hits including a home run and Ryan Slagenweit pounded out 2 hits among the Dragons ten hits on the day. Jacob Russell took the loss on the mound. Central drops to 2-3 and will return home to play Indian Valley tomorrow.
CHS 16 Indian Valley 6
The Dragons bounced back from a tough defeat yesterday to hand Indian Valley its first loss of the season 16-6. Sophomore Jared Baird picked up his second win of the year striking out 4. Central banged out 17 hits on the cold day at CHS. Leading the way was junior Jordon Saylor who hammered out 4 hits including a double and triple and drove in 5 runs. Senior Ryan Neil had 3 hits including two doubles and 3 rbi and fellow classmate Derek Forshey was a perfect 3 for 3 at the plate with two rbi. Junior centerfielder Ryan Slagenweit made some beautiful plays in the outfield and also had two hits on the day. Central improves to 3-3 overall and will be off until they travel to Bellefonte next Friday.
CHS 7 Bellefonte 10
Central traveled to Bellefonte Friday and dropped a 10-7 decision despite pounding out 14 hits on the day. Drew Ebersole had 3 hits on the day with two rbi. Casey Hamilton, Trent Forshey, Derek Forshey and Pat Schon all added two hits as well. C.J. Gahagan threw well in relief only allowing 3 runs and stiking out 4. The Dragons drop to 3-4 overall. Central hosts Penns Valley for a doubleheader at home tomorrow.
CHS 7 Penns Valley 6
Down by one in the bottom of the seventh with the top of the line up, the Dragons got singles from Casey Hamilton and Jordon Saylor and a passed ball put them on second and thrid with #3 hitter Drew Ebersole at the plate, Ebersole laced a hit to left center to plate them both to give the Dragons the victory. Junior Ryan Slagenweit laced two triples on the day and had 4 RBI to lead the offense. Jordon Saylor, Drew Ebersole, and Derek Forshey also had two hits on the day. Jared Baird started for Central striking out 4 and was relieved by Saylor who picked up the win striking out 3.
CHS 21 Penns Valley 9
Central brought out the sticks for game 2 of the doubleheader banging out 17 hits and scoring 21 runs. Leading the hit barrage was: Jordon Saylor with 3 hits and two RBI along with 5 stolen bases; Drew Ebersole 3 hits including a double and round tripper and 4 RBI; Derek Forshey 3 hits and 4 runs scored; Jacob Russell 2 hits including a triple and two RBI; Nate Reid 2 hits with a double; and Ryan Slagenwiet with 3 hits including a triple and 4 RBI to give him 8 RBI for the day. Senior Marcus Morgan picked up his first win of the year throwing 4 strong innings. Central improves to 5-4 and will face BEA on Monday at home.
CHS 0 Lewsistown 5
Central dropped their opening game of the 2009 Curve Classic 5-0 to Lewistown. The Dragon bats who have hit at a .395 clip thus far this season cooled off as they could only muster 4 hits on the day. Getting hits for the Dragons were Jordon Saylor, Drew Ebersole, Derek Forshey, and Trent Forshey. C. J. Gahagan was again a tough luck loser as he only gave up 3 earned runs, walked one and struck out 4. Central evens their record at 5-5 with the loss and will take on the the loser of the Altoona Somerset game at 12:30 Saturday afternoon.
CHS 15 Somerset 6
Central faced former league foe and Laurel Highlands leader Somerset in game 2 of the Curve Classic Saturday afternoon. The Dragon bats that were cold last night woke up and pounded out 16 hits and scored 15 runs. Senior Ryan Neil was a perfect 3 for 3 on the day with 2 RBI. Seniors Derek Forshey 2 hits with a double and triple and 2 RBI and Drew Ebersole 2 hits including a double had big days along with juniors Casey Hamilton 2 hits including a double and 3 RBI and Ryan Sleagenweit 2 hits. Sophomore Trent Forshey also rapped out 2 hits in 4 plate appearances. Senior lefthander Marcus Morgan was absolutely brilliant in releif holding Somerset to no runs over the final 5 innings of play. Central improves to 6-5 overall and will face Huntingdon Monday afternoon.
CHS 9 Huntingdon 10
A home run by Huntingdon in the top of the 7th inning dropped Central to 6-6 overall and 5-6 in league play. The Dragons had leads throughout the early innings, but could not hold on for the win. Casey Hamilton swung a hot bat bashing out 4 hits including 2 doubles. Drew Ebersole had two doubles as well to help lead the offense. Jordon Saylor was the tough luck loser throwing 3 tough innings and striking out 5. Central is back in action Wednesday at Indian Valley.

Central dropped a road contest to Indian Valley 3-11 Wednesday afternnon. Jordon Saylor led the offense going 3 for 3 with a double and home run. Drew Ebersole drove in the other Dragon run on the day. Central drops to 6-7 overall and faces Philipsburg in a key sectional contest Thursday afternoon.

Central picked up a key league victory over Philipsburg Thursday afternoon at home. C.J Gahagan picked up the complete game victory striking out 6 for his first win of the season. The Dragon bats pounded out 10 hits led by Jordon Saylor who drove in 4 runs with a single, double, and triple. Jacob Russell pounded out 2 hits including a double and junior centerfielder Ryan Slagenweit added two hits as well. Central improves to 7-7 overall and will face Claysburg Monday afternoon at home.
CHS 9 Bald Eagle 3
In a key game of league section front runners, Central came back from a 3-0 deficit to beat Bald Eagle in a rain shortened 5 inning contest. C.J Gahagan picked up his second straight victory on the hill striking out 4 in the complete game victory. Jordon Saylor continued his assault at the plate going 3 for 3 with 2 runs driven in. Ryan Neil pounded out 2 hits with 2 RBI and Trent Forshey drove in 2 runs with a clutch hit in the 5th inning. Central improves to 8-7 overall and sits atop the Nittany standings of the Mountain League. They are back in action tomorrow afternoon at Lewistown.
CHS 8 Lewistown 4
Central overcame an early 3-1 deficit to again comeback for a league vicory over Lewistown 8-4. Sophomore lefty Jared Baird threw a complete game 4 hitter striking out 4 to pick up his third win of the season. Senior Drew Ebersole blasted a home run among his 2 hits and drove in three runs. Junior Ryan Slagenweit also added a two run round tripper for his first of the season. Also adding two hits on the day were senior right fielder Derek Forshey, junior catcher Nate Reid, and sophomore third baseman Trent Forshey. Sophomore DH Eric Keefer hammered a double on the day and sophomore left fielder Pat Schon walked three times from his lead off spot as well to help power the Dragon offense on the day. Central improves to 9-7 overall and will play at Central Mountain Saturday afternoon in a doubleheader.
CHS 3 Central Mountain 12
Central dropped a league game to league leader Central Mountain on Monday afternoon. The Dragons had a few miscues in the field behind starting pitcher Marcus Morgan early and could not find a way to come back. Drew Ebersole had two doubles and two RBI to lead the offense. Trent Forshey also pounded out 2 singles. Central drops to 8-8 in league play and 9-8 overall. They will face Tyrone tomorrow in their final regular season game of the year.
CHS 10 Tyrone 5
Central scored 5 runs in the top of the 9th inning to drop Tyrone in their final regular season game and currently sit in a tie for the Nittany Division lead in the Mountain Conference. Jared Baird started the game and pitched 4 2/3 strong innings striking out 7 and giving up 5 runs, only 2 earned. Jordon Saylor picked up the win as he was flawless in relief striking out 5. Eight Dragon hitters all had one hit including Ryan Neil with a triple and Drew Ebersole with a double. Central ends the regular season at 10-8 and will prepare to face former Laurel Highlands conference foe Cambria Heights at home in the opening round of the 2009 playoffs.

C.J Gahagan was masterful on the mound pitching a 2 hitter and striking out 9 in 5 innings of play as he led Central to an opening round win of the 2009 playoffs against Cambria Heights. The Central bats exploded for 12 runs in 4 innings of play. Sophomore lead off man Pat Schon led the way with 3 hits followed by Derek Foshey with 2 hits including a double and younger brother Trent Forshey 2 hits also including a double and 2 RBI. Drew Ebersole pounded a double as well that drove in 2 runs. Also pitching in on the hit parade was Casey Hamilton, Jordon Saylor, Ryan Neil, Ryan Slagenweit, and Carl Sell who all added singles. Central will travel to Richland a 5-3 winner over Tyrone on Monday for round 2. The Dragons improve to 11-8 on the year.

Central exploded for 13 runs in the second inning to pick up a round 2 victory in the District 6 playoffs at Richland by a 15-4 score. Casey Hamilton, Drew Ebersole, and Trent Forshey all pounded out 2 hits for the Dragons. Ryan Neil, Nate Reid, Derek Foshey, Pat Schon, and Jordon Saylor all added one hit on the day. Schon drove in 4 runs, Hamilton 3, and Ryan Slagenweit drove in two runs to lead the offense. C.J. Gahagan picked up the win throwing four strong innings and was relieved by Jared Baird who threw the fifth striking out 1. Central improves to 12-8 on the season and will face Mt. Union in the district semifinals on Thursday at Mt. Union.

CHS lost a close game to Mt. Union as the game was scoreless until the 5th inning when M.U. pushed across 2 runs. Starter C.J. Gahagan again gave a fantastic performance on the hill only giving up one earned run and striking out 2. Central could only muster 3 hits on the day from Casey Hamilton, Drew Ebersole, and Ryan Neil. Central drops to 12-9 overall and awaits word on a game with Central Mountain to complete league play.
